UGK’s Bun B and Shaquille O’Neal recently held a charity event where they supplied 400 Houston area families with 20,000 pounds of food. Families were also given barbecue lunches and got to kick it with the celebrities. You rarely hear positive stories about rappers (nba players as well) and this is definitely one of them. Props to both Shaq and Bun. Photos from the event are in the above link.




Good ish. It’s always great to hear good things happen from the hometeam (H-Town!)… especially in terms of Bun B. We like to ‘crucify’ our rappers for inappropriate messages in their songs, but rarely highlight the person outside of the recording studio… and this is a great example of that.
I wonder how things might change if this type of stuff, the community engagement that Bun B and Ludacris do, was on the news as much as ‘so-and-so got shot/arrested today’…
Right, I think about that as well. It wont change anytime soon, however. The evils of rap (blacks) make money.
