The ultimate straight gangsta NBA player just joined Clutch City, the home of straight gangsterism.
The Houston Rockets acquired Ron Artest from the Sacramento Kings for washed up Bobby Jackson, a 2009 first round pick (which will be low because we’re going to the finals) and Donte Greene (damn). This gives the Rockets the third scorer and fire starter that they need. This makes Shane Battier somewhat expendable and he is rumored to be included in a deal with Denver for Allen Iverson (don’t see it happening, but would love it). With Artest, the projected 2009 – 2009 Rocket lineup will look like this
C – Yao Ming
PF – Luis Scola
SF – Ron Artest
SG – Tracy McGrady
PG – Rafer Alston
With Artest, an improved Scola, a healthy Steve Francis, Brent Barry, plus Yao and Mac, the Rockets are definitely a title contender. Props to Darryl Morey and the Houston Rockets.
Peace.
