Mayne. Eazy-E’s “Real Compton City G’s” is one of the hardest hip hop beats ever. The way the syth plays off the bass makes me wanna run up on anyone. Props to producer Rhythum D. The vocals by Eazy-E, B.G. Knockout, and Dresta fit the beat perfectly. In terms of a diss, I feel this song was more effective than Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “Dre Day.” Here’s the vid:

This song has so much more significance for me, in light that I finally got to watch that “NWA: America’s Most Dangerous Rap Group” documentary on VH1 over the break. I agree with you, though; Eazy definitely slaughtered Dre and Snoop. It was a heck of a low blow to throw at your former group member, though. Wow lol…
This sounds substantially different to the uncensored version released on the ‘It’s on’ EP… As for being a response to Dre day, I’d say the two were roughly on a par… but as far as archetypal diss tracks go, ‘No Vaseline’ has to be far out in front… Cube killed off NWA with a single dub. Some hard shit.
Gangsta rappers actually had flow back then. Ahh, memories…
