Chris Brown’s “Apology”

“Apology” is a brand-new track from alleged domestic violencer Chris Brown. It sounds like this record could be directed at ex-girlfriend(?) and alleged victim Rihanna, but listen to it and decide for yourself. The jury is out on Chris Brown, but this is a good record. Chris Brown doesn’t really fit the context of my blog, but the situation is intriguing. So, whatever. Check it out!

Peace and I mean PEACE!

This is some bullshit! I think it’s wack that he’s still making music, confident that his dumbass fans aren’t going to boycott music made by a batterer. Hell, R.Kelly’s still selling. But in response to your post, I don’t think this is about Rihanna at all. First, Brown is not smart enough to write his own music. Second, if he did write it, there are some things missing from this apology: bruised eye, busted lip, choking until she fainted, leaving when he thought she was dead, slapping, cursing, threatening murder, terrorizing, ignoring tears, ignoring screams, LEAVING when he thought she was DEAD.

The song sounds ok but he’s not sorry. He’s already got another girlfriend.
I’ll have to agree with the previous comment left I don’t think he writes music. lol

Chris Brown’s “Apology” sounds like “a hit” to me. LOL. In the context of his relationship with Rihanna, I don’t propose to know if it responds to their relationship. I do suspect that teens will continue to listen to his music. I predict that television opportunities will be limited for him over the next couple of years. Then, a Hollywood heavy weight will offer him a small part in a film, conveniently at a time when his reputation is not so toxic. His appearance will be hailed as a “comeback,” and people will talk about how much “he has been through” since the Rihanna incident. After either sufficiently disappearing from our consciousness for a reasonable amount of time or perhaps after writing a book to expose his “demons,” we will all forgive him for his transgressions and forget he was an “abuser.”

Omg….I think he’s sorry…people make mistakes in life and he’s human just like everyone else…humans make mistakes…and even if he didn’t write it. the point is that he’s sorry…

@Mandy,

Cool. But if he was really sorry, wouldn’t he have made a formal apology or statement? Why use a song thats rooted in ambiguity. Maybe he feels like he has nothing to be sorry for.
