Singer Houston speaks on eye and gang rape.
I’m only posting these videos because I always wondered what happened to this guy. R & B singer Houston (Summers) had a hit singe, “I Like That” a few years back. Unfortunately, he later gouged his left eye out in an apparent suicide attempt. He pretty much disappeared after that. Based on these video, he still seems a bit unstable.Mental health in the Black community is part of my research. I really hope he’s getting the help he needs.

thats real sad how he had issues and how he ruined his career and how his family spent the money he did make ….I hope he gets better because he is still talking kind of crazy.

yo i got the feeling that the whole rape thing and the reason he gouged his eye out are tied together. maybe he saw something he wasnt suppose to see. anyone who cant read between the line need to pay close attention. hes talkin about stoppin rape period! about gettin you manhood took. not just in jail… he gouged his eye out because he either saw a man get raped or hes been raped himself by the industry. and i mean really raped. Im down with his movement homie…

Poor poor Houston! I feel so awful for him and i really hope he gets the help, love and support he needs. Clearly this brother’s been raped and that’s what’s sent him mad, made him try to kill himself and inflict such an injury upon himself. Poor guy. Stop rape for EVERYONE MEN, WOMEN AND KIDS!!! This is what happens to people who are abused. There needs to be more done to support victims, prevention to stop it happening and understanding so people are not blamed themselves when it does happen. There needs to be more education on Rape Trauma Syndrome, grooming and sexual predators. This dude is crazy he definetly needs help rape in prison doesn’t happen everyday it does happen i know dudes who been locked up but rarely ever, I think he was raped that’s why he’s doing this hope he gets the help he needs.

You don’t know what he’s been through. He’s still a young cat, and it’s unfortunate that he’s had to deal with some mental issues. One of the best ways for mental health to improve in the black community is for its members to remove the stigma that comes from seeking help. Unfortunately, such an emphasis is placed on being resilient and strong (for men and women) that seeking help seems, to some, like weakness. In fact, it takes a strong person to admit they’re dealing with serious issues and to seek better health and a stronger life. Houston is in my prayers.

Man I personally don’t believe this eye thing was tied to any rape…IT MAY HAVE….
But dude was off of some PCP/angel dust/sherm when he did that to his eye…
PCP has TERRIBLE psycological effects on the mind…You really see things that ARE NOT THERE!
I read about a guy (black guy) who did some PCP and he then thought his girl was the devil, so he killed her and ate some of her RIBS….TRUE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!
So in conclusion, PCP + A Young Unstable Mind = Somebody’s eye getting gouged out…..
This could have happened to anybody! DID YOU SEE WHAT PCP DID TO SMOKEY IN FRIDAY? (I know its a movie but that gives you an example of the MENTAL effects this drug can have)
