His old management says they fell out with the family because they were in denial about his condition...he had probably just began to start to slip mentally when his career took off.....the managers and bodygaurds have been quoted as saying he was displaying odd behavior, unlike any sane person...and out of the blue started carrying around a bible 24/7.......and trying to hurt himself....outburst, etc......they even had him hospitalized....against his family wishes......pretty sad. Its hard for family members to admit that someone they love, that has appeared sane for years, all of a sudden becomes mentally ill. The music industry just chewed him up and spit him out at the first sign of trouble. I agree that in most communities mental health is still a taboo topic, when it shouldn't be. Mental illness transcends all racial and economic barriers. Substance abuse is something that typically goes hand in hand with mental issues as a way of coping. PCP no doubt has some profound phycological effects. But coming from someone that is experienced with smokin dust, you don't just gouge your eye out and have a situation like that. This was a long time coming for him, it doesn't matter if your 20 or 60 your brain will catch up with you. Just watching these videos is pretty sad. I don't know what he's gone though, but i'm sure it was bad. The fact he doesn't seem to acknowledge that he needs help at all is very sad. I hope this dude gets some kind of help that works for him and gets him to where he needs to be.
